Nobody's Fool

"Every teacher dislikes some pupils-the cheeky lipsticked adolescent girls, the sullen, hangdog youths, the cocky vulgar little comedians, how loathsome they can be, all the more so because they do it deliberately." -Gilbert Highet (American Educator, Author, and Social Critic)

My Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day

Or whatever the hell that book's name is...

I had a bad day today, and it's not because I'm "stressed out by student teaching" like I should be. I had to watch my cooperating teacher take over class today, and I was sickened by her lack of passion and general love of music in her teaching. My students would look over at me as if to say "help!!", and I could do nothing. I feel like the whole world is against me today.

My university supervisor has to observe me for the last time next week, and now I am being forced to teach my cooperating teacher's lessons because he cannot attend when I am actually teaching my own lesson plans. On top of it all, he is a moron. No, seriously he has a learning disability. He has a hard time understanding what people are saying to him., which was made apparent when I talked to him furiously on the phone today.

An estimator from State Fram came out today, and my case manager told me that my car may not be repairable (thanks for the heads up Celia). So, I think I have car shopping in my future.

I was so furious after I got off the phone with my idiot university supervisor that I couldn't find my keys to go out to lunch. So, I asked to onsite liason officer for help. He was in a hurry, so he got my car unlocked but was unable to get the metal rod out of my car window. So, I went to lunch with a totally unfixable front end of a car and with a metal rod sticking out of my car window.

To top everything off, my cooperating teacher who doesn't know how to teach music and my idiot university supervior will not let my student evaluate me. They don't see the value in it........
yes, that's what I said. I don't see anything wrong with it.. do you guys? I think that they are afraid of me. I think that my students will write that they would like me as a music teacher instead of Mrs. Meinel. I think that they will write that Mr.s Meinle is a horrible teacher, which may not be far from the truth.

Be nice and give me some encouragement in the comments section, or just tell me about your bad days.

I am really really sorry to hear about your car. I had a sneaking suspicion they might do that to you, having gone through it myself. It sucks, but it will get better!!! If you need me to ask my dad to keep an eye out for an interim-vehicle before you get your Cooper, I can gladly do that. We'll talk about it tomorrow.

As for student teaching, I am sure your kids think you do a great job and would have written that on any questionnaire. It is unfortunate that those kids are going to have to deal with a teacher for the rest of the year who has lost her calling, but just be glad to know that when you get a job teaching you'll be able to inspire a whole new group of kids the way you know is right. :)

I still haven't heard anything about my car! URGH! I need to call them and tell their asses to hurry up.

The lessons that my university supervisor observed were the best ones that I've EVER taught. I felt like superwoman up at the front of the classroom! And my voice survived the whole day! Unfortunately, my first graders weren't very good when the associate principal came to observe me- those little brats! OH well...

We didn't buy a computer yet. We kind of realized that we are a little broke after Christmas, instead of having extra money. Just give us some time; we'll have one soon.

I'll have to take some time to post stuff soon. Maybe this weekend! Don't mean to disappoint the audience.

Sherry, I swear to God, if you don't update this page soon, I'm going to pull your spleen out and serve it to Franklin.

I just found this on a google search after I had a bad day student teaching. I must say, you are quite the holier-than-thou know-it-all. Your basically called your supervisor retarded and inept and you say you knopw more than your cooperating teacher. I am sure you are a gem to work with. Since you posted this last semester, I wonder if you were able to get a job, since the whole world is stupider than you AND jealous AND out to get you. Well, this post did get my mind off my bad day because it made me mad at YOU.
